What’s your favorite part of your job?

The journey!  Every day and project is unique.  Building strong relationships, solving 3-dimensional spatial design challenges, tapping into knowledge and intuition at the same time, linking color, texture and materials.  It’s just gosh-darn fun!

What do you do that helps you feel balanced in your life?

My husband and I live in the most beautiful and inspiring setting.  Every day, whether adventuring or just observing and soaking in the vast panoramic view, gives grace and poise to my life.

What’s the one work/tool technology that you could not live without and why?

PrismaColor Art Markers and color pencils!  Nothing can take the place of sketching/coloring by hand.  There is a certain quality that is brought to life using this method whether it’s for a presentation or just going through the design process.

Who is your hero?

My Dad!  He was a Civil Engineer and I a sponge growing up watching him at his drafting table, figuring out problems, seeing his creative solutions.  And he was a gentleman.

What are you reading right now?

Actually two books: The Fire Starter Sessions by Danielle Laporte and The Secret Life of Lobsters by Trevor Corson.  Both fascinating with wit woven throughout.

What’s your life mantra?

Smiles & laughter heals!

And…

Always celebrate the child within!

If you had a theme song, what would it be?

I appreciate everyone in my life so KIND & GENEROUS by Natalie Merchant is very meaningful to me.  And of course HAPPY by Pharrrell Williams which makes me smile and dance!

What is your favorite childhood book?

At a very early age, my favorite book was THE COLOR KITTENS by Margaret Wise Brown.  This book was the impetus for becoming completely absorbed into the world of color.  It was instrumental in influencing my life.
