Gretchen Boulos

 NCIDQ / Interior Designer/Boulos Commercial Design



Gretchen was born and raised in Southern Maine and has recently moved back to Portland to start her own interior design firm, Boulos Commercial Design PLLC. With her, she brings extensive experience in the fields of residential and commercial architecture. Gretchen holds a B.A. in Visual Arts from Wheaton College in Massachusetts and a Master’s Degree in Interior Design from Suffolk University. Upon moving to Maine Gretchen became a state licensed Interior Designer. Gretchen believes that regulation of the Interior Design field is crucial to establishing global standards of competence for health safety and welfare in public spaces.


Gretchen is focusing her business on corporate interiors because of her passion for improving the workplace. Boulos Commercial Design assists clients with strategic planning, workspace evaluations, and office redesign, furniture and construction. Understanding each client’s unique set of needs, company culture and long term goals is what allows Gretchen excel in each project she takes on.


In addition, Gretchen is an active member of many design and community organizations. She is a member of the Maine Interior Design Association, the International Interior Design Association, the Portland Museum of Art as well as the local non-profit organization Architalx which exposes locals to the world of architecture and design through a unique lecture series.
